Katie Esterline
Katie is a Ph.D. student in the Cognition & Neural Systems program in the Psychology Department. Originally from Missouri, she graduated with a B.S. in Psychology in 2011. Prior to coming to The University of Arizona, she worked as a Sleep Research Tech at Brown University. Katie is interested in children's word learning and the role of sleep in memory consolidation in infants and young children. In her free time, Katie loves to cook, hike, and explore the Southwest!
Lucia Sweeny
Lucia is a Ph.D. student in the Cognition & Neural Systems program in the Psychology Department. Lucia received her B.A. in Psychology and Linguistics from The University of Arizona, and was an undergraduate research assistant in the Child Cognition Lab. Lucia is interested in language acquisition and memory development in young childhood, and investigates children's ability to retain recently acquired language-related knowledge. In her free time, Lucia enjoys hiking, running (when it is cool enough in Tucson), and playing with her dog.
Ji-Soo Kim
Ji-Soo is a Ph.D. student in the Cognition & Neural Systems program in the Psychology Department. Ji-Soo graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.A. in Psychology in 2001 and received her M.A. from the Catholic University of Korea in 2014. Ji-Soo's studies focus on the role of sleep in memory and executive function in young children.
Kimberly Leon
Kim is a PhD student in the Cognition and Neural Systems program in the Psychology Department. She graduated with a B.S. in Psychological Science from the University of Arizona and decided to continue her graduate education here. Her research interests are language development, word learning and cognition, in young children and specifically in bilingual children.
Hatty Lara
Hatty is a Ph.D. student in the Clinical Psychology program in the Psychology Department. She graduated with a B.S. in Psychology at the University of Texas at El Paso and a M.S. in Psychological Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas. In between school, she worked as a Research Assistant at UTSouthwestern Medical Center then Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso for cancer prevention programs. Hatty's research interest is word learning using EEG data in infants and young children. In her free time, Hatty enjoys hiking and traveling.
